Market Conditions: Pennsylvania

Chris Nast, our market expert for the Delaware County, Chester County and Montgomery County areas, reports the mild weather is helping give a boost to sales in early 2008.

He has seen brisk activity at local open houses, and appointments to see homes and write contracts has increased over the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2007.

And Nast thinks sales will start increasing.

The buyers who were holding back to see if prices would continue to drop should start entering the market, Nast says.

And the strong local economy should help this market have a soft landing compared to the more volatile regions of the country.

Nast attributes the strong economy, wealth of available starter and multi-family homes, and relative closeness to New York and Washington D.C. as further evidence this region will remain strong.
