What Rooms Would Under Tile Heating Be Suitable For?

If you haven’t really encountered under tile heating before, you might be wondering which rooms of the home will benefit most from its installation. In short, any room that has tiles will find that this system keeps the space cosy and warm all winter long. We understand that this is a popular flooring choice for many different rooms in this day and age, so felt it was important to outline some of the specific benefits that each can hope to receive.

Bathrooms
When we think about these systems, our bathrooms and ensuites are often the first rooms to spring to mind. No one wants to step into a freezing cold shower stall first thing in the morning or out of a luxurious bath and onto the stone cold floor. This is where heating comes in – the elements are installed beneath the floor and radiate heat upwards, ensuring that you can bathe without fear of freezing.

Laundries
Whilst these rooms are certainly tiled (more often than not), we don’t usually think about heating them because we don’t really spend more than a few minutes at a time in there. If you have pets, however, who spend most of their time in the laundry, it might be nice to have one of these systems installed. It will ensure that your furry friend is kept warm during those long winter nights.

Kitchens
Many people actually find that under tile heating is very beneficial in the kitchen, as these spaces are often forgotten about. Whilst cooking will certainly warm up the room, it is important to remember that heat rises – so the floor beneath your feet will still be cold. When the heat is radiating up from beneath the floor, however, you will find that the whole room experiences an even level of warmth and comfort.

Living Areas
Some people, particularly those in climates with hot summers, like to have tiled floors in the lounge room, dining room and any other living spaces to help keep them cool when it’s hot. The problem that this causes, however, is that these rooms are often quite cold during the winter. This heating will ensure that your living areas are comfortable – and if you have rugs, they will absorb the warmth!

Hallways
Many people completely forget about the hallway when it comes to arranging heating for their homes. Whilst heat from the other areas of the home will often trickle into these spaces, if you keep doors closed all the time the hallway can quickly become a freezer. Installing one of these systems underneath the floor will ensure that your comfort levels are maintained as you walk around the house.

We hope that the information provided above has given you a little better understanding of how under tile heating works and how it can benefit your home. It is important to remember that these systems aren’t usually installed to warm the whole house – instead, they are designed to target specific areas that may have trouble heating up with other systems. If you are interested in a whole house system, please contact your chosen provider.
