3 Things to Freedom

Written by Posted On Wednesday, 14 September 2022 00:00

This week, I got to hang out with a 28-year-old who is pretty much retired and never has to work another day in his life. If you stick around, I'm gonna give you the three things that he taught me about how he obtained his success. Interestingly, everything he said matches up with what all my mentors have taught me throughout my 30 years in the business.

I'm Johnny Mo, let's kick it.

This weekend I was at a seminar down in Foxwoods Casino. There are thousands of people there and all sorts of top producers, making millions of dollars a year. Amazing, amazing crowd, and quite an event.

I had the pleasure of speaking for Explore My Town and talking about video, marketing, social media, and Google, and those fun things. The first thing this young gentleman told me is to make it about people. People over properties. It's always about the people, Zig Ziglar even says if you can help enough people get what they want, you'll get what YOU want.

The second thing he told me is, it's about leverage. He said if you can master leverage and get other people to do the work so you can go do other work, your income expands because you're building multiple different assets. He's got a real estate team. They do all the day-to-day work. He stepped out of production, so he's no longer making the big commissions. Instead, he's out there, building expansion teams. Now he's got 1000 people in his down line, making some ridiculous amount of money.

The third thing he said is to be kind. Just simply be kind. Nobody wants to work with a jerk. You can be a strong business person, you can even be a ruthless business person, while still being kind, and treating people with fairness. That's what we call integrity. Never leave integrity. Always be in it.

So make it about people, have leverage, and always be kind. Do these things, and you will win, too.

Johnny Mo

Johnny Mo was a pre Y2K network engineer for a large dot com. In 2001, he entered real estate and quickly rose through many award levels, reaching the ReMax Hall of Fame in a short time. Around 2011, he went to Keller Williams and was immediately invited to join the ALC. He became one of the top 5 most profitable agents at the time. He developed More GCI, a goal-planning application, which grew into a full-fledged training program that allowed him to consult with several franchises and associations.

Always looking for ways to improve the industry, Johnny Mo saw a need for video. He noticed that everyone wants to tell agents to do it, but no one is willing to help them produce it, edit it, and market it. They just want to sell a course. He developed Explore My Town, a video production and marketing company that offered a turnkey solution.

As Johnny Mo was building Explore My Town, he had the opportunity to have a meeting with famed author Michel E. Gerber, of “The E-Myth Revisited” series. He said to Johnny Mo, "Whatever you do, be revolutionary.” Johnny Mo took his advice.
