The term “real estate sales” is a misnomer in my opinion. If you look at the skills that truly make a good real estate professional, you’ll find that most of them have very little to do with sales. The only sales involved, really, is selling yourself to your customer in the beginning; but once you get the job the most important skills involve follow up, being detail oriented, caring, being able to multi-task while staying organized, and always being willing to go the extra mile.
Moms are already accustomed to this lifestyle. We put our kids before ourselves all day, every day. We are chauffeurs, nurses, therapists and expert jugglers. We care very deeply and are in-tune to our children’s needs. After dealing with poop, snot, blood and dirt, as every mom does, there’s not much you can’t throw at us that we can’t deal with! Everyone else’s schedule is our schedule. We make it work. We become expert time managers.
If you think about it, this is very much like the life of a good real estate professional. As glamorous as real estate looks from the outside, behind the scenes it can be extremely unglamorous. At the end of the day your job is doing whatever it takes to keep a transaction together, and for the best interest of your customer. This might mean cleaning something that someone else should have cleaned, chauffeuring and doing things that technically aren’t in your job description all the while keeping track of the details that are!
This is a piece of cake for moms. We’ve already been through boot camp. Bring it on!
