It is hot in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, -- at least if you're in the market to buy.

This strong buyers market -- located between Miami and Palm Beach -- has a large inventory of homes available. And after the pricing boom seen in the years past -- home sales have slowed.

Notes one local expert, "An increase in the quantity of available homes for sale is evident. This gives buyers more options. Last year there were few price reductions. However, at this time we are seeing price negotiations. This is certainly better for buyers. Prices for small homes with and without charm, are often shocking. Interest in this area has been fueled by beautiful deep water canals, a lively downtown with nightlife and interesting restaurants, plus lots of shopping. At the same time Ft.Lauderdale offers broad educational options, parks, sporting events and always ... the beautiful beach!"

Ft. Lauderdale is home to nearly 190,0000 residents. Many luxury homes and condos were built during the boom years in the early 2000's.
