Is Bend, Oregon, really a market for investors? One local expert thinks so. Here's why.
The current market is geared towards buyers, with activity at a slower pace than last year. But with interest rates still below 7 percent and employment healthy in the area, investors and sellers could see a good response at this time. In fact, experts report, "Residents' biggest challenge going forward will likely be adjusting to the growth that their welcoming community attracts."
Inventory levels are higher than in 2006, which could be affecting prices. "Average residential home sales through the second quarter of 2007 were $418,227 compared to $399,543 for the same period in 2006."
