Market Conditions: Washington County, Utah

Written by Posted On Thursday, 06 March 2008 16:00

Our local market expert for Washington County, Utah, Sam Sampson, says he saw a decline in the market through the end of 2007, but the beginning of 2008 has seen a jump in sales.

February will be a lot like January in terms of sales, he says, but with a lot more buyer activity.

And though prices have declined with the market, they seem to have begin stabilizing since the first of the year.

This readjustment is all a response to the big price increases of 2005 and 2006, Sampson says.

And where will that readjustment lead?

He foresees an upward trend in the market as prices hit bottom and begin to rebound.

Sampson also says the family and retiree-friendly atmosphere of this market will continue to draw new home-buyers, as will the region's rating as one of the top-ten places in the country to play golf.
